

Inner Conflict: Chapter 3She stood up slowly, Milo and his wife watching silently as she left the kitchen. At the sound of the front door closing, Milo got to his feet. "It's about time I got back to work. Those fields don't tend to themselves after all." He gave his wife a brief kiss on the cheek and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'll find her and make sure she's okay." He left, following the steps taken by the girl a few moments ago and as the door closed behind him, his wife had already begun clearing away the remains of the interrupted lunch. Inner Conflict: Chapter 2"Who am I?" The question wandered through her mind, but returned unanswered. She lay in the bed and stared at the cracks in the ceiling, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. "I don't have to worry" she told herself out loud, "I'm sure that woman from a few minutes ago can tell me". It was a flimsy hope at best, but it was still hope, and she clung to it desperately. She stayed where she was for a few more minutes, sniffling and using the edge of the blanket to dab at a few stray tears at the corners of her eyes, before finally getting out of the bed.Inner Conflict: Chapter 2

Inner Conflict: Chapter 1Her eyes snapped open, the last fragments of her nightmare scattering in the early morning light. A slight frown formed on her face. What had the dream been about? She looked around her, the frown on her face changing to a look of pure confusion. The room looked unfamiliar. She sat up suddenly, looking around wildly at the strange room she was in. All the furniture, from the bed she was in to the small chair in front of the dresser, and even the floor, were made of wood. In her rising panic she completely missed the person standing in the doorway until she spoke. "Oh good, you're awake. We've been worried about you for the last few days." &nbInner Conflict: Chapter 1
